Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

Babies, Bumps And Bargains

Posted February 1st, 2018 by admin Well hello 2018, and what better way to start the new year by creating yourself a new look. Be it highlights, finally deciding to embrace the grey, deciding to grow your hair long or having a short crop, a change is as good as a rest (so they say!) and here at Zeitgeist we are ready to help. To book a free 15-minute consultation in the salon with a stylist or colourist, call 01422 844974 and they will be happy to talk through what is possible and what they think would work for you. 2018 is going to be a particularly special year for two members of the Zeitgeist Team; Kellie and Amy.  Kellie gave birth to Violet Grace on the 28thDecember, who arrived on her due date; what a well-behaved baby! Kellie says she is loving every minute of it and I am sure Ada is delighted to be a big sister. In more baby news, Amy is due to produce a little Carver/Garner on the 10th February, so we are all looking forward to hearing her forthcoming news.  Like Kellie, Amy has been amazingly calm and professional, producing brilliant haircuts despite the fact she was getting further and further away from the hair of her clients as her gorgeous bump got bigger and bigger! We hope she gets plenty of time to relax before the big day but she will no doubt take it in her stride and be a fantastic mother. Hope everything goes well Amy and Justin; we will be thinking of you. In Salon news, our January clients will have noticed a bit of a change in the salon as we have had the floor partially sanded.  I hope you will all agree that this has created a fabulous effect, so fabulous that I am struggling to locate the hair on the floor I need to sweep up! We love the new look; it has made the salon look much brighter and fresher, so our thanks go to Emma (our decorator) for all of her creative hard work. In other Salon news, Karen is increasing her hours by working a longer day; ideal for any clients who would prefer an appointment after work. In baking news, I have made the millionaire shortbread which I promised to make in my December blog, it seems to have gone down well, so am sure I will make it again for the Salon, maybe a salted caramel version next time. I am now pondering whether or not I have the skills to make heart shaped jammy dodgers to celebrate Valentine’s day in February… In product news, I have noticed we have been selling lots of Bumble and bumble’s curl defining crème, so I have been researching this fabulous product. This shape enhancing crème creates flexible curls with separation. It is suitable for a wide range of curly hair from waves to ringlets. To use, place a small amount on your hand, apply it to clean damp hair and rake it from your roots to the ends, it can then be blow-dried with a diffuser or left to air dry. I know this must be a special product as Amy made sure she purchased some just before she left for maternity leave and another client has been told by a convert to this crème, ‘it would change her life!’
