As the wedding season begins we are busy in the salon. In this June edition we will be looking at the latest photo shoot, yes more latest than the fantastic bicycle themed photos that made it to the front cover of the Yorkshire post magazine! And more newspaper worthy articles for you to read about and enjoy.

Photo shoot
We enjoyed so much the collaborative work based on the vintage film ‘A boy, a girl and a bike’ that when the sun shone so beautifully recently we got together again for another day of styling and photography.
Photo: That will be a latex wedding gown you're looking at! Throw in some artichokes and a fluffy crown, awesome hair, marvellous make-up and some kick ass light... well you got yourself the Hebden Bridge massif! One frame from today's bridal shoot.
Looks can be deceptive,  this dress falls like silk but… its a latex wedding gown you’re looking at! Artichokes a fluffy crown, awesome hair, marvellous make-up and some kick ass light at the beautiful Wainsgate Chapel… well you got yourself the Hebden Bridge massive! One frame from today’s bridal shoot.

Anything but boring!
Ten years ago salon owner Debbie took the leap and opened her first salon in Hebden Bridge to become self employed, she says “where did that go!”
An article was featured in the local paper which reads “Award winning Vidal Sassoon stylist Debbie Wilkinson has gone back to her roots and opened her own studio in Hebden Bridge. Like Debbie, it promises to be anything but boring…”

Hebden Bridge Open Studios 2014
The Hebden Bridge Open Studios have launched their programme of events which we are participating in. It reads:
“The most famous cycling race will be passing through Hebden Bridge on our usual Open Studios weekend. So for this year the Open Studios will cover two weekends.
The Open Studios weekends are a great opportunity to visit the local artists and craftspeople in Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Heptonstall and Mytholmroyd. This year over 80 artists will be opening their studios and homes.
Browse at your leisure, purchase original work direct from established and new talent from this flourishing creative community.
Here at Zeitgeist Hair salon we are hosting TALYA BALDWIN ILLUSTRATION. Talya says “I draw things that are not usually considered worthy subjects: feral pigeons, weeds and forgotten characters from stories. I like taking the time to record uncelebrated or trivial objects. I use whatever drawing materials I can find, mostly biro.”
Talya is on the top floor, entrance via the hair salon. 28th & 29th of June, 4th & 5th of July
from 11 – 5pm.

The surf story
In 2001 Bumble and Bumble created Surf Spray for sexy, sun-dried, windswept styles, and it’s since become an essential in beach bags and session stylist kits worldwide. It’s introduction led to numerous awards and preposterous amounts of press coverage (and numerous knockoffs).
The bottle is actually made of scuba suit material!
When I need to create that tousled texture, I reach for this tried-and-tested wonder-product,’ with its winning matte finish.’ A little goes a long way so don’t be too heavy handed to begin with. Instead, spritz it over damp hair in layers for an organic, naturally sexy effect.’
