Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

ISOLATION BLOGS

Well here we are at the end of week five and we hope you are all well and coping with the unusual situation we all find ourselves in. We are all focusing on the day when we will be back in the salon again as we do miss you all!

A ittle message from the Zeitgeist team

I have been having a chat with Anne and she told me that when her husband got his clippers out to cut his hair she was very tempted to ask him to give her an ‘action man.’ Thankfully she resisted and I reminded her how amazing she is going to feel when Zeitgeist is able to open and her hair will be transformed. She also said how relieved she was that Chris had changed her hair from ‘sludge brown’ to ‘blonde bombshell’ (his words not hers!) as her root regrowth is much less noticeable. Please remember I can post out products or drop off ,if you live in or around Hebden, when I‘m out for my daily walk. We still have Bumble and bumble colour sticks and sprays for anyone who need to cover any regrowth; they provide excellent coverage and are easy to apply, just email me at zeitgeisthair@gmail.com.

For those who have re-read everything on their bookshelves and are missing our amazing libraries, Lyall’s bookshop in Todmorden may have the solution for you. You can order a bundle of books from them for only £10 (genres include history, gardening, crime, science fiction) and they will deliver them to you free if you live in Hebden Bridge or Todmorden. Please take a look at @lyallstodmorden to find out more about this service.

In these changing times, we have had to adapt to create new social experiences; one of which we have tried was a dinner party on Zoom. The positives of this was the fact that I didn’t have to tidy the house before the guests (didn’t) arrive! I made an Indian starter and main course (anyone who knows me could guess my main course, pea and paneer curry!) and then for dessert I made a delicious egg custard. It must be a Zeitgeist thing as Amy has also made some amazing looking egg custards this week too. For anyone who has plenty of eggs (quite a rare commodity at the moment!), follow this link to make it: https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/marcus-wareing-custard-tart–recipe

Well that’s all for now, happy baking and reading

Stay safe
