Hello everybody, I hope this blog finds you all safe and well. I was so relieved that Hebden Bridge escaped the worst of the weather recently, it must have been a really worrying time for some of you. We hope you are not struggling too much with your hair; please hang on in there, we cannot wait to see you and make you look amazing again! Why not take this time to consider what you might like when we can open again, perhaps a brand-new style or colour? Remember when we open, consultations are free and you can book a 15 minute slot with any of our colourists or stylists.
I think in these current times it is important to have a little bit of time to yourself each day; whether it is to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake, have a big bubble bath (love this, only place in our house with a lock!), read a book, listen to your favourite podcast or have a large glass of white (Beth, I’m thinking of you!). For those of you who like to take some time for a little pamper, we would recommend the following from Bumble and bumble; While You Sleep is a conditioning masque that will make your hair feel and smell amazing or the Invisible oil range has a great Hot Oil treatment, which will return moisture and shine to parched hair. If you would like either of these, we have them in stock, so please email zeitgeisthair@gmail.com and we can arrange this for you.
In baking news, I have recently made a lovely twist on a traditional Victoria sponge (I would like to take all the credit for this bake, but it is in fact one of the wonderful Mary Berry’s creations). Do give it a go, it really is delicious. The addition of grated apple makes it extra moist and the lemon curd mixed with the cream is ‘wonderful on the palate’ (a quote from my youngest son, who loves a bit of Junior bake off!).https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/apple_sandwich_cake_28507
If you fancy something a little more savoury, why not try the following; https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/butternut-squash-sage-macaroni-cheese a perfect recipe for those looking for a bit of comfort food during these cold, dark evenings.
I was really pleased to hear that some of our lovely clients have got in touch with their book and podcast recommendations. A podcast called ‘The Happiness Lab’ with Dr Laurie Santos came highly recommended as well as Robert McFarlane’s book ‘Underland’ and Natalie Diaz’s poetry collection ‘Post -Colonial Love Poem.’ If anyone else has any book, film, poetry, podcast or even a recipe they would like to share, please email us at zeitgeisthair@gmail.com. I always love it when I am up and down those stairs (well maybe not so much that bit!!) and I hear a client or stylist recommending something to each other, it makes me think Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s quote ‘hair is everything’ may not be totally true at Zeitgeist, as when hearing such conversations I would like to think your trip to us can be about so much more!!
Looking forward to seeing you all soon
