Hello and Goodbye
A big Autumn welcome to you all and to let you know that there have been some big changes at Zeitgeist this month. And in the words of the ‘Beatles’ we have been very lucky to say a big hello to Frances (Tibby the dog) and Olivia as they have joined us from Circle of Friends. At the same time, unfortunately we also have to say a goodbye to the most fabulous receptionist, Beth. She has given us five glorious years; kept our cushions plumped, arranged the best deals on everything, amused us with the best ‘Dad’ jokes, showed us how many different styles a Breton top comes in and has basically been the best advocate for Zeitgeist. I know like us you will really miss her as she is very much part of the Zeitgeist experience, but we all wish her the absolute best in her new role and know her new employer will be as delighted to have her as we were. Personally, I will really miss her for being a brilliant job share but I know our friendship will remain; there are more glasses of wine to be consumed, plates of cheeses to be eaten and fun to be had in the future.
We’ve had a great October so far, the salon is busy and bustling, we do still have some appointments available if you would like a cut or a colour; so please call us on 01422 844974 or book online at www.zeitgeisthair.com. Although I apologise for mentioning the C word (Christmas!), it may be wise to secure your Christmas appointment with us now, as some December days are already completely full.
In Salon news, Olivia is working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and alternate Saturday and Sundays. Frances is working Thursday, Friday and Saturday and alternate Wednesdays. Both Olivia and Frances will work a later evening on Thursday with their last appointment at 5.30pm. On a personal note, it has been a pleasure to meet new Circle of Friend’s clients, you’re such a lovely bunch and we have enjoyed having you with us. You will also find a little info about Frances and Olivia in Zeitgeist ‘About page’ https://www.zeitgeisthair.com/about/
The super-stylish Simone is also amending her working week slightly (although I’m glad to say she is still working the days that I am on reception which I am delighted about). Simone will now be working every Tuesday and Friday and will alternate between one week working Thursday and the following week Sunday. I always love to see what Simone is wearing; will her nails be matching her outfit, will her glasses be matching her shoes and lately have become rather obsessedby her choice in socks (check out her amazing apple ones!) This has inspired me to start my Christmas shopping early and have been buying socks to match people’s personality. I wonder if they do teeny tiny car socks Chris, Chihuahua socks Frances or Olaplex socks Kaye…..?

I like to try and cook seasonally, so why not have a go at the following Autumnal recipes? It has been an amazing year for apples, so if you are lucky enough to have a tree of your own, this following recipe is delicious https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/dorset-apple-cake. I always pretend I live a life like people in the Simple Things Magazine (check it out, it is available in the Salon to read). So always imagine that one year I will make pots of chutney as Christmas presents (wearing a corduroy smock and some handknitted cardigan probably). So if you want to join me, here is a tasty chutney recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/autumn-tomato-chutney. If you will be indulging in some pumpkin carvingthis halloween and don’t know what to do with all the pumpkin flesh, why not check out the following recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pumpkin-soup?
That’s all for now!
