Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

Season’s Greetings

Posted December 8th, 2022 by admin

There is a distinct nip in the air, mincemeat has been made, the Christmas cake has been doused with brandy, the fairy lights have been untangled (again!) and I am thinking of creative ways to get sprouts into the children…..it can only mean one thing, it’s nearly CHRISTMAS!
If you need a haircut or colour we still have some appointments available, so please call us on 01422 844974 or book online at www.zeitgeisthair.com. If you are unsure of how to use our online system, please ask us when we are in the salon and we will happily go through it with you. We are also open between Christmas and New Year with some of our team working the 28th, 29th and 30th of December and the majority of the team will be back in the New Year from the 3rd January.
In BIG salon news as well as saying goodbye to the wonderful Beth (I can picture her now in a stripy top with a Christmas slogan, glass of cremant in hand…) we have also said a big hello to another Beth! Our new Beth is doing brilliantly getting to grips with all things hair and will definitely be a positive addition to the Salon with her extensive front of house experience. So Beth, we offer you a huge big Zeitgeist welcome as I am sure all of you will too.

As you may now be in full swing with workplace Christmas parties, I recommend a couple of products for bringing instant volume to your hair if you are leaving work and going straight to a party. Bumble and bumble’s ““`’Pret a powder’ is a  dry shampoo which instantly creates volume, adds texture and absorbs oil to totally refresh your style. Bumble and bumble’s ‘Dryspun’ texture spray is a translucent dry finishing spray which Instantly adds volume, lift and airy texture to your look.

I believe that sugar and spice makes Christmas nice, so in baking news, why not try these festive recipes; firstly with a twist on the traditional mince pie https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/gingerbread-mince-piesOr how about a delicious cinnamon biscuit? https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/cinnamon-cookies. If you are more of a savoury person, the following soup is sure to warm your cockles.https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/red-lentil-chickpea-chilli-soup.
If you want to just get away from Christmas shopping and endless repeats of ‘so here it is merry Christmas’ but still require the warm fuzzy feeling that this season can bring, we would highly recommend going to see ‘A Bunch of Amateurs’ at Hebden Bridge picture house.

This hilarious and heart-warming documentary follows the ups and downs of Bradford Movie Makers club, one of the oldest amateur filmmaking clubs in the world. Exploring the enduring power of friendship and film, it had everyone in the cinema alternating between tears and laughing out loud. A beautiful film that celebrates community, marginalized people, film lovers, the independent spirit of movie-making and Bradford.  It’s easy to see why it has had standing ovations and won the Audience Award at this year’s Sheffield Doc/Fest.

It will be shown this Sunday and Thursday https://hebdenbridgepicturehouse.co.uk

From all the team at Zeitgeist, we wish you all a peaceful Christmas and thank you for your custom, support and general loveliness in 2022.
That’s all for now!
