Hello and welcome!

This is my first time writing the newsletter, I have enjoyed writing the blog and updating the Facebook page with news and local events, you can also find us on twitter and at our website Zeitgeist Hair. My time here since December has got off to a really great start – it’s all been happening, especially with Karen’s happy arrival! She enjoyed taking Leo for a trip to London to visit family, she said “Today I am THAT woman… you know the one… who pushes a pram on the London Underground at rush hour wearing a rucksack… and I smiled all the way!”. She says “Leo was being an angel and they managed to get across almost the whole of London, with the help of strangers!” We are looking forward to welcoming Karen back to the salon at the end of April.

Congratulations and a huge welcome to Kellie, our new colour technician. Kellie is highly trained whose experience has developed over her years in the industry. She joined Vidal Sassoon as a school leaver and spent over eight years building her knowledge, alongside an array of loyal clientele. Whilst training and working at Vidal Sassoon Kellie studied English and American literature at Manchester Metropolitan University, building up her bank of education. She is inspired by the simplicity of classic looks. In the short time Kellie has been with us she has already collaborated with Debbie and other local businesses to put together a small collection in celebration of ‘The Grand Depart’ with a sneaky preview below…

We celebrated the salon’s third birthday by having a day trip to Morecambe for afternoon tea at the Midland. The sun was shining bright and we had plenty of tea, sandwiches and cake. Perhaps a bit too much cake but we have been making up for it in lent especially Debbie with a strict regime of yoga and veggie smoothies!  Debbie says;“Thank you to all the lovely clients who have supported us, long may it continue.”

Mother’s day is fast approaching on Sunday 30th March, why not treat her or yourself to a voucher for a treatment, colour or cut and finish. We have an extensive range of exclusive Bumble and Bumble products with gift bags available. The thickening shampoo and conditioner are popular, they make hair feel thicker and fuller, while helping to seal split ends and smooth flyaways. And if you are actually flying away, we have travel size too!

Most excitingly we have recently done a 1950’s bicycle themed photo shoot for the salon, there’s been a few sneak peek snapshots released on our Facebook page that have been taken locally here in Hebden Bridge. There is a full article soon to come with all the details; we’ll keep you posted!

Extras…

Unless you have been hibernating for the last few months you will know that the Tour De France is coming to Hebden Bridge! It will be on Sunday 6th July with the Hebden Bridge Arts festival in the run up to the event. The festival is bursting at the seams this year to deliver the most exciting programme yet. Alongside their headline events they’ll be bringing you two days of the very best street theatre, a youth festival, a picnic prom, the much anticipated return of Hebden Shorts and ALL MANNER of cycling related fun – bike dancing, bike stories, knitted bikes and maybe even some trick cycling.
