Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

Do You Feel Like Whistling?

Posted March 31st, 2023 by admin

As Doug Larson said ‘spring is when you feel like whistling, even with a shoe full of slush.’ I would definitely agree with this;  we are not quite there yet but the glimpses of spring to come are enough to make you smile. Spring is also the time for plans and projects, so if one of those plans is to have a new look, please call us on 01422 844974 or book online at www.zeitgeisthair.com.

The new hair colours for spring are buttercream blonde, caramel drizzle, honey blonde, cherry cola and strawberry blonde; which all sound good enough to eat! This leads me beautifully onto some recommendations for some spring cooking.

How about an asparagus and new potato frittata, perfect for picnics and lunch in the garden https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/asparagus-new-potato-frittata  or a real treat of a springtime bake, a rhubarb and elderflower cake https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/rhubarb-elderflower-cake

In salon news we are proudly displaying an entry for the decorated duck competition and we have entry H. This is all part of the build up to the Hebden Bridge duck race which is taking place on the 10th of April.

We will be open on the 7th, 8th and 9th of April and we have some appointments remaining. We also need to advise you that some of our stylists will be raising their prices for a cut and finish but they will advise you individually  if this will be the case.
In product news we are getting lots of positive feedback for Bumble and bumble’s great body blow dry creme. A cream which you apply to damp hair has heat protection, volumises, hydrates and holds blow-drys all day long.. Please ask your stylist if this would be a good product for you when you are next with us.

Well  Easter is nearly here, so that means two weeks with my four boys (dig deep Anne). Like Wordsworth,I  am a big fan of daffodills (although he may have the edge on a passion for them) so I will be dragging/taking them to stay in North Yorkshire for a night to go on the famous Farndale daffodill walk. If you too are a big fan of these springtime golden flowers, it does look fabulous https://www.northyorkmoors.org.uk/visiting/enjoy-outdoors/walking/our-walks/walking-routes/farndale

I hope you all have a restful, chocolate filled Easter.
That’s all for now!
