In September Nicola King of the Ark Nursery in Cragg Vale hosted a fashion show to raise funds in support of a children’s nursery in India. The show was held at the Ark nursery, which was transformed into a sleek catwalk.

The clothes came from Anon Lingerie, Kitty Couture, Sage and Onion, Thrifty Frocks, Halo, Harold Crabtree and The Staite Room.

Debbie, Amy and Becky went along from the salon to style the model’s hair.

The night raised more than £1,800, all going to Sunshine House, a children’s nursery in India.

“The night was a success and ran very smoothly – a lot of people have asked for it to be an annual event, so we shall see,” said Nicola.
