The team went for a weekend last month and visited various Hair Shows and a few Art galleries too! It was apprentice Isabelle’s first hair show, and she thought it was really great. She loved the styles that were demonstrated on stage by top stylists from around the world. Whilst there, they went to Noise, which is a surreal combination of innovative hair styling and modern art. At The Alternative hair show, Annie Humphries was presented with the ‘Legend Award’.

The Zeitgeist team went backstage at The Mahogany show and Salon International. The team all had a great time meeting up with many old friends and colleagues.

Pop Up Shop

Kaye and Jess are hosting a designer pop up shop on the 1st of November. There is a wonderful array of new and pre loved clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery on the top floor of the salon. Here’s what Jess has to say, “For those of you who came last time you’ll remember it’s a chance to sell all the things I’ve ordered, sort of liked and have then gone off having missed the chance to send back! Then I sell them and they look fab on other people!” Everyone’s a winner. Selling Toast, Hobbs, White Stuff, Jigsaw, shoes, boots and kids clothes. Please call in to have a look and say hello.

Amy’s Return!

Amy has completed the Macchu Picchu trail and made it to Chile where they will pick up a campervan, their plan is to drive from the north down to south.

I looked up the distance, from north to south, Chile extends 2,653 miles, and yet it only averages 110 miles east to west. On a map, it looks like a long ribbon reaching from the middle of South America’s west coast straight down to the southern tip of the continent, where it curves slightly eastward.

We are looking forward to hearing all about it when she gets back in December!

The Christmas window display will have to wait, as we are hoping to have one of these by local Artist Lisa Slater… Halloween

But yes, it is that time and the bookings are getting very full, please don’t delay if you would like to make an appointment for Christmas.

We have Gift Vouchers, and we are offering a gift-wrap service on all of our products.

Music News

Singer-songwriter Ella Eyre won the Brit award for British Single with Rudimental’s ‘Waiting All Night’. She performed a version of Bastille’s song Pompeii with Bastille and Rudimental at the awards ceremony. which became a chart hit itself. On the salon playlist we have her song ‘If I Go’ from her debut album, which was released this summer.

SBTRKT (pronounced subtract) has a lovely track on our playlist called ‘Hold On’ featuring singer songwriter Sampha. SBTRKT is the band name for a solo artist, who rejects the idea of celebrity and performs wearing a mask and doesn’t like to talk about himself, preferring to promote his music than his own personal brand.

Calvin Harris has made it back onto the salon playlist. One of his earlier tracks from 2009 ‘I’m Not Alone’ is a firm favourite and is so far standing the test of time. Since then he has won the Guinness World Record for the most amount of UK top ten hits from one album. The previous record holder was Michael Jackson.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the MacMillan Coffee Mornings success. There were wonderful cakes, savouries and puddings and we made a fantastically generous £127.48
