Tales from Reception
As my third week as receptionist at Zeitgeist Hair draws to a close, I can honestly say that I have loved every minute. I am really enjoying getting to grips with all that goes into making the salon run smoothly, from manning the phone and mastering the appointment book to making the perfect cup of Lady Grey.
Jazz has also started with us on Saturdays and she has been a great help, she’s always working hard and you’ll struggle to find her dilly dallying. She is a real asset on what can be the busiest day of the week.
It has also been a pleasure to pass on the news of the arrival of Baby Holly Rose into the world. Lots of Karen’s clients have been delighted to hear that she and family are all doing well and are much more understanding when they cannot get their usual appointment. Nonetheless people are eager to have Karen return to the salon floor as soon as she is ready! All the best!
In an effort to promote our mailing list throughout the month of May, we were offering the chance to win a free haircut to those who signed up. Being on our mailing list enables us to contact you with updates, newsletters and the like, but it also means you can benefit from our recommend a friend and birthday offers. Did I hear you say ‘no brainer’? With the help of Cissy, we drew a name out of a hat and we were delighted the announce that the winner of this competition was Angela Lawson, who has already enjoyed her completely free haircut with Debbie.
COMPETITION TIME… As many of you will know, the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival is running throughout June and into July, which is fantastic opportunity to experience some home grown talent. With this in mind, we are running a ‘design a hairstyle’ competition. We want to see your weirdest, wackiest and most wonderful hairstyles. They can be sketched, painted, crafted or even photographed. Get your entries to the salon via post, email, or in person, or post direct onto our Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/ZeitgeistHair11/ before the 3rd of July to be in with a chance of winning a FREE HAIRCUT (which doesn’t necessarily have to reflect your own design!!). Let your imagination run wild. Our record sleeve inspired flyers are dotted around Hebden Bridge on pinboards and counter tops, keep your eye out for them!

I’ve really enjoyed my first month working at the salon and am settling happily into my new role as a senior stylist. Many factors have helped to make the transition easy including the train journey from Manchester, watching the urban jungle meld into beautiful countryside and of course the wonderful staff who have all been so welcoming. It”s been great to meet and chat with some of the clients whilst working on their hair and I’m looking forward to meeting many more. I feel like I’m getting to know this lovely, creative community a bit more each day and becoming a part of it myself!
Training with Bumble&bumble
In an effort to keep up to date with all there is to know about Bumble and bumble and their amazing products, we will be attending a training day in Manchester at the DoubleTree Hilton on Monday 20th June. For me personally, this will be a great opportunity to learn as much as I can about our fantastic products, so I can offer advice that is right for you and your hair. I have heard such great feedback so far regarding the Bumble products and I am excited to know more. I am hoping that the new Surf range will feature in the training day, as it seems like it will be the product of the summer and I’ll need to be an expert!
On a final note, I would like to thank everyone here at the salon, stylists and clients alike, for making me feel so welcome in my first few weeks as receptionist. It really has been a joy, and I hope to be meeting the high expectations that come with a place like Zeitgeist Hair. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and thanks to our vibrant and varied clientele I am getting the some top tips and insider info, from the best yoga classes to a new nail technician (thanks Rachel!) I look forward to seeing clients new and old sometime soon. Many thanks.
