Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

Celebrating Seven Years

Posted April 12th, 2018 by admin

On the 1st March 2011, the marvel that is Deborah Wilkinson opened Zeitgeist. The initial team included; Debbie, Jane, Becky and Amy with the dynamic duo, Naomi and Kate on reception. Seven years later, the team has grown to include Kellie, Kaye, Karen, Mel and Sam, and during this time we have produced seven Zeitgeist babies and Kaye is now a Grandma (I know, can you believe it!) Without your continued support we wouldn’t have been able to grow and succeed, so a big thank you to you all for enabling us to be here seven years later celebrating another birthday.

To mark this significant event, the Zeitgeist team went to Gimbals in Sowerby Bridge and had the most delicious meal as well as the odd delicious cocktail or two! For anyone looking for somewhere to have a fabulous meal, I would highly recommend Gimbals, the surroundings and service were gorgeous and the vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free people amongst us were all brilliantly catered for.

In Salon news, Amy has put in some dates when she will be back at work, starting on Saturday the 12th May and then initially working alternate Fridays and Saturdays. We look forward to welcoming her back as I am sure you are too.

In the Salon we are also displaying a lovely entrant as part of the Decorated Duck Easter competition. Have a look around Hebden Bridge as lots of shops are displaying ducks in their windows; what a lot of hard work has gone into them.

In baking news, I have possibly had one of the best comments ever; a client came into the salon and said that when I see you I always think of (was it glamour, sophistication, professionalism?), no, it was, CAKE and I couldn’t have been more delighted! I also had a lovely review from Shelia (thank you), to say that my apple cake greatly enhanced her visit to Zeitgeist, so for all those bakers out there here is the recipe; https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2044/dorset-apple-traybake.

In product news, Debbie has another favourite product (alongside grooming crème of course!)  a relatively new product called Save the Day. This is a daytime protective hair fluid which is a rich but lightweight concentrate infused with camellia oil and UV filters to help repair past wear and tear and fortify against future damage. To use, work through damp hair and blow dry or air dry. As well as its fantastic repairing properties it also smells fantastic and its gorgeous packaging also means it will look pretty good in your bathroom too.

So Happy Easter to you all and well done to Debbie who has persisted and given eggs up for lent, Mel who has given up cake and chocolate and Kaye who has given up sugar (although she did have exceptions such as going out and between certain hours!). You can all go wild with omelettes, vegan chocolate torte and sugar twenty four hours a day now!

That’s all for now

Anne – Reception
