Macmillan coffee morning this Friday
Firstly, I am sure you will all want to know how Debbie is progressing. She has had her operation and all went well, so she is now on her road to recovery. It will be a slow process, but she is doing as well as can be expected and has been really touched by all the kindness that has been shown to her. So, a big thank you for all the cards, presents and books you have passed onto her and thank you to all the people who have popped into the salon to ask about her. You will have noticed an increase in facebook posts, so true to form Debbie is still keeping busy and thinking about the salon.
In Salon news, our lovely Karen is getting married to her partner Stuart in a couple of weeks and today I have been on her hen do. It was a very sophisticated affair in a spa, lots of prosecco was drunk and cake eaten and I learnt some new things about my colleague. When you are next in ask her about her pet snakes and where they turned up when she lost one of them! You may also want to see the photograph of her hen do jelly babies, I am still blushing….We wish you all the best Karen and Stuart, hope you have a fabulous day and life together.
Chris Burton
In other Salon news, from November 16th to the end of December Chris Burton will be temporarily taking over Debbie’s clients. Chris has had salons in England and Australia and is also an educator in the hairdressing industry www.chrisburtonhair.com. Chris can both colour and cut hair and is really looking forward to his time in Hebden Bridge.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
In baking news, on the 28th of September we will be hosting a Macmillan coffee morning at Zeitgeist, so we will all be donning our aprons and making some creations for you to try. Karen will be making a carrot cake and I will be making some millionaire shortbread (in honour of Karen) and a white chocolate and raspberry cake (Debbie I will save you a slice). I am already looking forward to Thursday, the Archers, the afternoon play and wall-to-wall baking…..heaven. Please feel free to pop in on Friday and sample our cake for a donation, even if you don’t have an appointment on that day, it will be lovely to see you.
