Zeitgeist - The spirit of now

Gaynor a new Colour Technician joining our Zeitgeist team

Posted January 10th, 2019 by admin

Happy New year to one and all and here’s to a splendid 2019. If you feel 2019 should be the start of a new you, where best to start this journey than with a fabulous new hairstyle at Zeitgeist. Cut and colour consultations are free and all of our team members would be happy to talk to you about how you can achieve the look you require; call 01422 844974 to book a 15 minute consultation.

Zeitgeist are pleased to announce that from February 5th 2019 we have a new colour technician joining us. Gaynor Francis, an extremely experienced technician will be coming to enhance our team here in Hebden Bridge. Gaynor like everyone at Zeitgeist is Vidal Sassoon trained; she started in 1993 initially working with Debbie, Chris and Jane in Manchester, then moving to Vidal Sassoon in London and then Glasgow to work both in the training centre and the Salon. From here, she moved to Vidal Sassoon in California and then Miami to head up their training department. On her return to Britain, she became a lecturer, teaching others the technical skills involved in colour and then went on to qualify as a makeup artist, before returning to her first love as a colour technician. As you can see from her vast experience, we are both lucky and delighted to have her join us. To complement the hours Jane and Becky are already working, Gaynor will be working alternate, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (9am – 6pm) and on a Sunday from 10 – 5 pm.

In Debbie news, the news you are all been waiting for; she is back!! If you would like to book in, please call to secure an appointment as she is working slightly reduced hours, so booking in advance is advisable. Whilst Debbie has been off, we have all had the pleasure of working with the wonderful Chris Burton, who has been quite a presence in the salon! He has been creating some truly gorgeous cuts and colours and I think we have all learnt something from having him with us (and not just how much you like mince pies, Lurpack and a deal Chris!). I for one will miss working with him when he leaves at the end of January, but the good news is he will be back throughout 2019 to cover for Debbie when she is away on holiday.

In product news, it has been a very exciting time at Zeitgeist, particularly for myself and Beth as we left the valley and went on a training course in LONDON! We went on an extremely informative course at the Bumble training school, to learn all about their products and we hope that our newly found expertise will benefit you. Collette, who trained us was brilliant and we left completely understanding why Debbie chose to exclusively use Bumble and bumble in the salon as it is such a fantastic product. At this point, I couldn’t go without saying a big thanks to Beth my job share. I don’t see her very often (the only down side of having a job share), but when I do, we can safely say there isn’t much silence, we make sure we are well hydrated (!) and generally have a lot of fun (if Carling made job shares Beth…..).

We are also delighted to let our fabulous curly haired clients know that Bumble and Bumble are adding to their curl range. Their two new products are a Luminous Oil Spray; which instantly enhances curl integrity and shine, leaving you with defined, frizz free curls and a Curl Butter Masque which revives limp curls, leaving them soft shiny and perky! Look out for these two new products that should be with us by the end of January.

As it is January, I haven’t included any baking news, as this is generally the month where different members of team decide they are going to give up eggs, sugar, hot chocolate and cake if there is a J in the month….(not me I hasten to add, there is always room for cake in my life). But no doubt in February it will be business as usual and I will be baking again.

That’s all for now!
