No sugar, a vegan diet, no wine between Monday and Thursday, only drinking coffee in a reusable cup, reduced carbs…..it can only mean one thing, it’s January! In the salon, we have taken on a variety of resolutions but if your resolution is to create a new look, you can book a colour or cut and finish appointment online at www.zeitgeisthair.com or call 01422 844974 and Beth and I will do everything we can to accommodate you.
In Zeitgeist news, Jules, our emerging stylist is now working Tuesday, Thursday and occasional Sundays. Jules trained in Amsterdam, and to build on her original training, over the last six months has covered all the classic haircuts on models supervised by Debbie. Jules is now qualified and raring to go, she’s now beginning to building up her clientele and gain experience of working on the salon floor. To reflect this; a cut and finish with Jules is £40, students between 12 and 24 years are £30 and children up to the age of 12 are £20.
As from Wednesday 12th February, Amy will be working alternate Wednesdays, alongside her usual alternate Friday and Saturdays.
Sam, in the very near future, will be a resident of Calderdale and will now be able to work longer days on Tuesdays and Fridays, which will be ideal for anyone wanting to book an appointment after work.
A very important date for Zeitgeist and for you all is the evening of the 28th March, please put it on your calendar. It will be Zeitgeist’s 9th birthday party at the Trade’s club and you are ALL invited. DJ Red Helen will be there doing her Disco set and we would absolutely love to see you there!
In Product News, we often devote a lot of time to our body in January, but for those who are equally keen to look after their hair, Bumble and Bumble have the perfect product for you. They have brought out a new glow range, which includes a thermal protection mist. The mist is infused with a honey protective complex, protects dried hair against heat tools leaving a healthy glow whilst also conditioning and taming frizz. Please ask our stylists if the glow range would be suitable for you when you are next in the salon.
In cake news when a client booked a haircut with Sam on his birthday and let me know his favourite cake was a banana loaf, I knew it was time to pop on my apron to make sure he could enjoy a slice with his coffee when he came in the salon. I also made another one and added chocolate chips, which my children assure me was a great addition. If you would like to make a banana loaf, the following recipe was very quick and easy https://thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/banana-loaf and surely having bananas in it basically makes it a health cake! I believe the next cake I will making to ensure Karen remains a happy stylist, will be a carrot cake…..
So, January often means we think of ways in which we can improve our body and now you also know a great product to do wonders for heat-styled hair, but I was also thinking about what we could do for our mind. First of all, make a banana loaf, pour yourself a large cup of tea and then read ‘Leonard and Hungry Paul,’ by Ronan Hession which is doing the rounds of the Salon after being recommended by https://ursulaholdengill.com/storytelling/. Debbie and I have absolutely loved it. It is a gentle, life-affirming read and is published locally by https://bluemoosebooks.com/ available to buy at the bookcase in Hebden Bridge.
So that’s all for now, but don’t forget the 28th of March as a date for your diary. A one off chance to see Chris strutting his stuff to the Pet Shop Boys, Debbie dancing to absolutely everything and having the chance to be twirled around by Kaye as she shows you her West Coast Swing….oh and the receptionists doing everything they can to avoid dancing, probably hiding behind a bottle of prosecco………
