Hello everyone, we hope you are all staying fit and well and even though the days can be tough we do hope you are finding something good in every day.
Here’s a chalk board from off the back of a copy of the lovely ‘Simple Things Magazine’ 🌞
Although we may not be able to physically practice the art of hairdressing at the moment it hasn’t stopped us wanting tokeep on learning and improving ready to make you look and feel fabulous when we can return to the salon. So, in order to do this, we have been taking part in some inspirational online classes; some run by Vidal Sassoon and others by talented people we particularly admire in the field of hairdressing
In baking news after a glut of rhubarb I decided to do what Anne would do as a therapeutic aid and bake a cake. The following recipe contains two of the most glorious foodstuffs known to man; rhubarb and custardhttps://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/rhubarb-custard-cake. On my many walks with Cissy and as you will see from my hair up Facebook post, I noticed that we are currently seeing a mass of bright yellow dandelions and those who are in the foraging spirit, why not collect some of these and have a go at the following https://veganonboard.com/vegan-dandelion-honey/. If you don’t fancy foraging or baking a cake and you can barely move for stalks of rhubarb, this also sounds like a lovely idea https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/rhubarb-gin and I am sure our brilliant receptionist Beth would be happy to sample some if you need an expert to give advice on the quality of it!
For those who are home schooling, although it can have its lovely moments, there are also plenty of challenges. For those challenging moments, I can certainly recommend some programmes that I think could definitely count as an art and geography lesson! One is ‘Grayson Perry’s Art Class’; he is such an engaging person and gives you the confidence to have a go at making art, so much so that Cissy and I have drawn portraits of one another. ‘Race Across the World’ is another programme I would recommend, it is just fabulous forteaching children about geography, environment and culture.
We imagine we will know more on Sunday about when the salon may re-open and we will obviously keep you posted. In the meantime, we have been discussing what we will be doing to keep us all as safe as possible when we are back hairdressing again, we can’t wait to see you!
That’s all for now
