Welcome to October; pumpkins, comforting stews, conkers, trick-or-treating and clock changes. Welcome also to Becks, our new Receptionist, who will be working every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
In product news, we have two really good value Christmas gift boxes in stock; perfect for a Christmas present for others or of course to yourself!

Hydration wonderland contains a travel size invisible shampoo and conditioner and a full sized primer; this hair quenching trio gives featherlight hydration. Ideal for any hair type seeking hydration, the shampoo and moisturiser cleanse and moisturise without the weight; the primer gives heat protection, protects colour from fading from up to 16 washes, detangles to help against breakage, smoothes, softens and adds shine.

The Curl Defining Wonders gift box, contains a full size shampoo, 3 in 1 conditioner and reactivator. It gives coils, curls and waves what they crave enhanced with a rich curl loving blend of oils. The shampoo and conditioner hydrate leaving hair shiny and reduce frizz. Finished with a good spritz of curl reactivator to give curls a boost of definition, or to reactivate on day 2, 3, 4 and beyond. This trio of treats is one that all curl types will love.

In Salon news, you will have noticed the lovely Becks greeting you on arrival, sorting your appointments and making you a drink. Well here are three interesting music related facts about our blonde beauty. Her first ever gig at 17 was to see sonic youth, she hitch hiked there and stayed in a squat! She ran a nightclub for 6 years in Sheffield and used to work for an events company that organised Eurovision……I reckon Becks will have a lot of good stories to tell.
In cake related salon news, we are having a Macmillan coffee morning on the 27th October here at Zeitgeist, so please pop by for a piece of cake and a cuppa. I shall be baking a cinnamon icing topped carrot cake and a vegan oreo cookie chocolate cake and there will be lots of other delicious offerings for you.
So whilst we are thinking about cake (I rarely think about anything else), here are a couple of recipes for you to try:https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/gluten-free-carrot-cake. Although this is gluten free the flour can be easily replaced with self raising flour (and this is what i’ll be making for the 27th)

This easy seasonal recipe can be made as a large cheesecake or individual oneshttps://www.riverford.co.uk/recipes/plum-cardamom-cheesecake is so simple to make but tastes fabulous.

That’s all for now, hopefully see you on the 27th!
